Tax File Number
To legally work in Australia, not only do you need a valid work visa, but you also need to get a tax file number from the Australian Tax Office – you can visit one of their offices or visit their website for further details www.ato.gov.au
It can take up to 28 days to receive your Tax File Number so make sure it’s one of the first things you do when you arrive.
Bank Accounts
There are many high street banks to choose from here in Australia and to get paid you will need bank an account, here is a list of few to look out for:
When choosing a bank, always ask what their account keeping fee's are. Most banks have an account keeping fee and will charge for ATM transactions if you take money out at a different bank from your own.
