How do I process an expense claim?
You will need to send your original receipts along with a claims form to businessexpenses@lester.com.au
When will you invoice the agency for the work I have done:
If we receive your timesheet before 12pm then we will invoice your agency on the same working day. If it is received after 12pm then the invoice will be sent to your agency the following day.
When will I get paid?
If you have received a payment schedule, you will be paid in accordance with that. Otherwise it depends on the payment schedule of your agency / company contract.
Once the agency has made payment when will I get paid?
Once L.A receives cleared funds into our account we will make payment to you within 24 hours.
Where do I get a Tax File Number?
Visit our website and follow the link to the ATO website www.ato.gov.au) to apply for one on-line or you can visit any ATO office.
When will you reply to my email?
We aim to get back to your email within 4 hours of receipt.
I have a friend that I would like to refer to Lesters – how do I do it?
Either refer to the consultant you initially dealt with or send an email to info@lester.com.au - don’t forget to let your friend know that it was you who referred them as you may be eligible for a $150 gift voucher or a free month’s Lester margin.
What happens to my tax return?
We have formed an alliance with a firm of chartered accountants which will prepare and lodge your tax return for a competitive fee.
How does superannuation work?
Your remuneration package includes superannuation. Under Australian law we will contribute currently 9% of your salary component to a registered superannuation firm you choose. If you leave Australia permanently you can apply to have the moneys refunded to you (less any tax). We will assist you in making any claims. Further information can be obtained from super@lester.com.au.
Can I salary package a motor vehicle?
We do offer a novated lease facility to people who qualify. This does not suit all employees so enquire at tax@lester.com.au.
Can I open a bank account before arriving in Australia?
Yes. We can assist you through our bankers. The account can be opened and funds transferred in before you arrive so that there are funds available. All that is required is for you the activate the account at any branch of our bankers for the funds to be available immediately. Ask for details at info@lester.com.au.
457 Business Visa FAQ's
Am I eligible for sponsorship?
Yes, if you have a minimum of 5 years experience (this can include industry certification and/or tertiary studies), e.g. 3 year degree and 2 years commercial experience. In addition you will need a firm contract offer for the supply of your services.
Are there any other criteria relating to sponsorship that I should meet?
Your declarable salary must at all times respect the gazetted Minimum Salary Levels as outlined by The Department of Immigration and Citizenship, DIAC.
What is the normal duration of a 457 visa?
457 sponsorship may last anywhere from 3 months to 4 years dependent upon the circumstances surrounding your employment.
Can I renew/extend my 457 visa to prolong my stay in Australia?
Under current legislation it is possible to renew your 457 visa thus extending your stay in Australia. Lester Associates sponsorship team will be able to offer further details regarding both sponsorship renewal and Permanent Residency.
Is there a limit on the number of times I can come and go from Australia and the number of weeks vacation that I may take?
There is no limit on the number of times you can come and go from Australia however during a 12 month period you are entitled to a maximum of 3 months off shore leave and 4 weeks on shore leave.
Do I need to undergo a medical before I can apply?
Yes, you do. Nearly all applicants will be required to undergo a medical/X Ray as part of the application process before their visa is approved. This needs to be carried out by the recommended authorities and there are specific forms that are required.
How long does it all take?
Once the sponsorship application has been lodged it can take anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks for the application to be approved. Once approved you have 28 days in which to start work if off shore or 14 days in which to start work if on shore.
What are the chances that my application will be turned down?
Lester Associates has applied for 1000's of visas over the years and has NEVER had an application refused. Providing you satisfy DIAC requirements your chances of having the visa application approved are very high.
